Jackie Chan causes stir at press conference

Celebrated Chinese born American film star, Jackie Chan, last Tuesday caused a stir at a press conference called by the China People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) to address issues about Chinese culture development.

Winner of the 2006 Ms Malaika beauty pageant, Ms Hamamat Montia, has launched a new project, the Zuzu and Sasa book series, to improve literacy and self-confidence among children aged under seven years.

877 steps up the Kwahu Mountain. A personal Air Jays adventure

I had to be nuts to attempt climbing a 15km long flight of over 877 wooden stairs to the apex of the Kwahu mountain at Obo, but I couldn’t be damned – I was at my daring best.

But for the rugged mountains that jut out of low-lying Nkawkaw, the capital of the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly, there would be no Kwahu. It is the mountains that define the famed Kwahu area made up of several communities.

Paragliding festival gets first Ghanaian pilot

The prayer of Kwahu chiefs for Ghana to have its own paragliding pilots to sustain the 11-year-old paragliding festival atop the Odweanoma Mountain at Kwahu-Atibie seems to have been answered earlier than expected.

It was all booze, extremely loud music, the smoking of hookah and lots of food, including roast chicken and kebabs at the Kwahu Easter celebrations on the Kwahu Ridge, as revellers took it by storm from last Thursday to Sunday.
